What is the Importance of Regular Servicing?

Even the best system will deteriorate without proactive maintenance checks and without a 24hr cover plan even the smallest of fault could cause a major problem.

If you are relying on a system to prevent crime or save lives, the respective governing bodies insist that systems are maintained at least twice a year or in some cases four times a year and all must have 24hr call out with four-hour response. Insurance companies often insist that systems are maintained by a qualified company with a maintenance contract in place.

The Data Protection Act for CCTV now states that a regular maintenance should be carried out to ensure all recorded images are of the highest quality. CCTV systems are comprehensively checked for wear and tear, picture quality is checked using a Rotokin test target, these checks are recorded onto a live media source and video levels recorded onto a word document for future reference.

BMS maintenance contracts vary from a Bronze level, which is a basic coverage agreement to a Gold Level, which is a fully comprehensive contract. Each agreement can be tailored to suit the individual site, achieving a cost effective solution to your premises.
